Daryl and Lynn Priepot of 3714 Greenfield Road will be honored for their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 25 at Melrose Chapel United Methodist Church, hosted by their siblings and children. Family and friends are invited; the couple requests no gifts.
Mr. and Mrs. Priepot were married Aug. 17, 1968, in Zion.
Mrs. Priepot, the former Lynn Neill, is a daughter of the late Jack and Grizella Neill. Mr. Priepot is a son of the late John H. and Ramah J. Priepot.
They are the parents of Robin Irvin (Jeff) of Quincy and Lori Priepot of Lyons. They have one grandchild.
Mr. Priepot was a teacher for the Quincy Public Schools for 38 years before retiring, and also worked for Baker Builders and Hesse Builders. He enjoys fishing.
Mrs. Priepot was a teacher at Transitions of Western Illinois School for 31 years before her retirement. She is a substitute teacher at Transitions School, teaches at Quincy University and enjoys scrapbooking.
They attend Melrose Chapel United Methodist Church and enjoy travel, camping and spending time with family.
The couple met at Illinois State University where they both were studying special education.
