The Hawks are 1-3 all-time against the Sycamores, losing in 2010, 2012 and 2013. In those three games, the Hawks were outscored 177-29. Quincy is 4-6 in its last 10 season openers, nine of which were played on the road. The Hawks follow the trip to Terre Haute with four straight home games and won't go on the road again until travelling to Jefferson City, Mo., to face Lincoln on Oct. 6. Freshman quarterback Tionne Harris will start for the Hawks, becoming the first freshman quarterback to start the season opener since Sam Donatucci started against Western Illinois in 2008. Jalil Kilpatrick, a junior college transfer, will start at quarterback for the Sycamores, who return all five starters along the offensive line but no starters at any skill positions. The Sycamores are picked to finish last in the MVFC.
