JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The Quincy Notre Dame boys soccer team outshot Jefferson City 19-6, but the score was tied 2-2 in regulation play and the Raiders lost a penalty-kick shootout 4-3 on Tuesday.
The Raiders got on the board in the 11th minute off Mitchell Murphy's free kick. Murphy struck again in the 27th minute off Colby Kapp's assist to stretch the Raiders' lead to two goals.
Jefferson City (2-1) got on the board just before the half, then evened the score in the 62nd minute.
The Raiders (2-2) led 3-2 after three rounds of the penalty-kick shootout but missed the fourth and fifth shots.
