The Pittsfield volleyball team already is halfway to matching last year's victory total.
The Saukees remained unbeaten after four matches following a 25-11, 25-15 victory over visiting Griggsville-Perry on Tuesday night. Lilly Pepper had seven kills to lead Pittsfield. Kameron Smithers added eight digs, and Olivia Hobbs added three aces for the Saukees.
Monmouth United 2, Southeastern 0: Hope Cheney had nine kills and eight digs for the Suns in a 25-22, 26-24 loss in Augusta. Avery Waner and Taylor Wagner had five kills apiece, and Molly Rea had 12 assists.
Unity 2, Liberty 0: Addison Miller had nine kills and 11 digs in the Mustangs' 25-23, 25-20 victory in Mendon. Kaylee Nichols had 24 assists for Unity (7-1). Katie Wagner led the Eagles (4-3) with 14 assists, and Paige Knuffman added six kills. "They simply outplayed us," Liberty coach Rich Meyer said. "They executed when they needed to."
Western 2, West Hancock 0: Chloe Mellon had eight assists and 13 digs in a 25-18, 25-12 victory in Barry, the Wildcats' first this season. Tori Predmore led Western (1-6) with eight kills. Aftyn Harrison added five aces and eight digs.
Monmouth-Roseville 2. Central 0: The Panthers took a 4-1 lead in the second set but gave up six straight points in a 25-14, 25-17 loss in Camp Point. Kendra Obert led the Panthers (3-6) with seven digs, and Dacey Shore had seven assists, three digs and two blocks. "Our defense is really starting to come together as we keep making progress in a new program," Panthers coach Shawn Bunch said.
Triopia 2, Brown County 0: Madi Henry and Faith Boylen had three kills each in a 25-21, 25-18 loss in Mount Sterling. Breanna Gooding had 16 digs and Lexi Maas had 10 assists for the Hornets (3-6).
