Prep volleyball roundup: QND tops Liberty, former coach in straight sets

The Quincy Notre Dame volleyball team defeated Liberty and its former coach Rich Meyer in straight sets of 25-19, 25-17 Thursday night in Liberty, Ill. Sydney Hummert led QND with 14 kills while Maddie Peters had 16 assists.

Paige Knuffman led the Eagles with 10 kills, and Kenzie Wagner had 13 assists.

Illini West d. Havana: Hannah Wood had six kills to lead Illini West to a 25-14, 25-13 Prairieland Conference victory in Carthage, Ill. Gracie McDowell added five kills, and Kendra Johnson had nine assists. The Chargers have won five straight.

Central d. West Hancock: Lauren Gille had five kills, three blocks and two aces as the Panthers won 25-22, 25-17 in Warsaw, Ill. Cloe Turner had six service points for Central.

Gracie Boyles and Reagan Eaves each had five kills for the Titans.

Payson Seymour d. Southeastern: Riley Epperson had 17 kills, and Cassie Eidson dished out 32 assists as the Indians rallied for a 25-17, 19-25, 25-17 victory in Augusta, Ill.

Hope Cheney led the Suns with 14 kills and nine digs, while Alivia Lantz had five kills and 13 digs.

Hannibal d. Bowling Green: Abby Bauman had eight kills and two aces as the Pirates cruised 25-3, 25-7 in Bowling Green, Mo. Claire Thomas had five kills.

Brown County d. Meredosia-Chambersburg: Madi Henry had three kills, and Bre Gooding had 13 digs as the Hornets won 25-16, 25-19 in Meredosia, Ill.

Pittsfield d. Brussels: Lilly Pepper had 11 kills to lead the Saukees to a 25-21, 25-15 victory in Pittsfield, Ill. Maggie Marable added 10 digs as the Saukees won their fifth straight match.

Griggsville-Perry d. Jacksonville ISD: Katleyn Leeners had six kills and an ace as the Tornadoes won 25-6, 25-12 in Griggsville, Ill. Caitlyn Downey added nine assists.

Triopia d. Western: Paige Snyder and Tori Predmore had three kills apiece, but the Wildcats suffered a 25-14, 25-19 setback in Concord, Ill. Aftyn Harrison had 17 digs.
