QUINCY -- The Adams County Election Office has taken steps to comply with federal and state election law by improving access to registration, polling places and election day voting.

Elderly and disabled voters who are unable to come to the Adams County Courthouse and need to be registered or transfer registration can call the Adams County Clerk's Office, 217-277-2150, to have a registration form delivered to them.

Voters unable to visit a polling location can call the Clerk's Office for an alternative means of voting. Voting aids, including a voter assist unit, assistance in marking the ballot, signature guides and vision magnifiers, are available.

Applications for vote-by-mail ballots can be obtained by calling the Clerk's Office. Early voting will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from Sept. 27 to finish Nov. 5 in the County Clerk's Office, 507 Vermont Street.
