GRIGGSVILLE, Ill. -- A Griggsville agricultural business is trying to preserve the Griggsville-Perry School District's preschool program after it lost its funding.

Logan Agri-Service has pledged to donate 5 cents from every gallon of fuel purchased in September and October to the pre-k program. For each new fuel account, Logan Ag will donate $25 to the program.

The school district was not chosen to receive a grant through the Illinois State Board of Education's competitive Early Childhood Block Grant program this year. The school board is funding the preschool program through the general fund and will continue to do so as long as it can.
