College roundup: HLGU winless after four matches

The Hannibal-LaGrange University women's soccer team allowed four goals in the second half during a 5-1 loss to William Penn on Saturday in Hannibal, Mo.

Anna Matthew scored her first of four goals in the 40th minute to give the Statesmen a 1-0 lead. Matthew scored two goals early in the second half off assists from Raunice Butler to lift the lead to 3-0. Maria Monteiro put the Trojans (0-4) on the board in the 62nd minute with an unassisted, but Matthew answered with another goal for William Penn.

Culver-Stockton 1, Missouri Baptist 1: A goal by Francesca Frasca in the 53rd minute helped the Wildcats preserve a non-conference tie Saturday at Spartan Field in St. Louis. Missouri Baptist took a 1-0 lead when Miranda Pratt scored in the 32nd minute. Frasca's goal came off an assist from Jody Ellis. C-SC (3-1-1) outshot the Spartans 22-11.
