Kentucky Wesleyan at QU

When: 1 p.m. Saturday

Where: QU Stadium

Records: Kentucky Wesleyan -- 0-1. QU -- 0-1.

Radio: WGEM 1440 AM

Extra points: The Hawks begin a four-game homestand with the home opener against a former Great Lakes Valley Conference member. Quincy has won three consecutive home openers, all since QU Stadium was refurbished and the Hawks returned to their on-campus facility. They were 1-6 in their previous seven home openers. QU is 8-7 at QU Stadium in the past three seasons and will play seven of the next 10 games at home. This will be the first meeting between the Hawks and the Panthers since QU set the single-game scoring record with an 80-26 victory in 2013. Kentucky Wesleyan leads the all-time series 5-4, although QU has won three straight. Both teams are experiencing growing pains. In last week's 69-19 loss to Findlay, the Panthers had 28 players in their two-deep depth chart who were freshmen or sophomores. The Hawks had 27 underclassmen in their depth chart in the 49-0 loss to Indiana State. Kentucky Wesleyan finished with minus-9 yards rushing on 34 attempts and were hurt by eight sacks. Quincy had 81 yards on 37 carries and fumbled four times, although only one was lost. "They didn't play great on offense, and neither did we," QU coach Gary Bass said. "The biggest thing for us is not beating ourselves."
