Prep/college roundup: Moller, Ohnemus lead Unity to quadrangular victory

Unity's Gage Moller and Grant Ohnemus both shot 39s to tie Central's Conner Hughes for medalist and lead the Mustangs to a quadrangular victory at Deer Run in Hamilton on Monday.

Wyatt McKinney (44) and Kody Gronewold (45) rounded out Unity's team score of 167. Hughes led Central (183) to a second-place finish with a 183. Central's Connor Bross tied for fourth with a 42. Brandon Daniels had a 47 for West Hancock, and teammates Ben Hollis, Dane Pfeiferling and Jake Little all shot 48s as the Titans took third place with a 191. Cade Tomhave shot a 42 to lead Pittsfield (195).

QHS d. Moline: Avery Scott earned medalist honors with a 35 and led Quincy High school to a 70-stroke victory over Moline at Duck Creek Golf Course in Davenport, Iowa. Laci Noyosel and Paige Cain followed Scott with 40, and Brooke Walbring rounded out the scores with a 42. Madison Wenthe led Moline with a 51.

Macomb d. Pittsfield: Gabi Fish led Pittsfield with a 47, but the Bombers' Emma Thorman shot a 32 as Macomb finished with a team total of 180 as it won by 61 strokes at Macomb's Gold Hills Golf Course. Thorman was followed by Laine Torrence with a 45.

Screaming Eagle Golf Classic: Victoria Hays led the Quincy University women's golf team with a 162 and a tie for 23rd place finish on Monday in Evansville, Ind. Emily Van Rie shot a 163 and tied for 28th place, followed by Hannah Maguire with 164 and a tie for 30th. QU took eighth place with a 662. Lewis won the invitational with a 612.

Murray State Invitational: The Hannibal-LaGrange University men's golf team finished 10th out of 12 teams on Monday in Murray, Ky. The Trojans were led by Juan Hurtado with a 146 and a tie for 24th. Carlos Pena shot a 150 to tie for 45th place. Murray State won the event with a 569 team total.
