The Culver-Stockton College women's volleyball team is winless after three matches in Heart of America Athletic Conference play after a 25-22, 25-18, 25-15 loss to Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa on Tuesday night.
Down 18-12 in the first set, the Wildcats (6-6) scored 10 out of the next 12 points to take a 21-20 lead. Clarke (12-2, 2-0 Heart) won five of the next six points to take the set. C-SC trailed 18-17 in the second set, but Clarke then won seven of the next eight points. C-SC was as close as 18-15 in the third set, but Clarke won the next seven points. Gabby Hickman and Jenna Lord had six kills apiece for the Wildcats.
William Woods 3, Hannibal-LaGrange 1: Rayleen Rivera had ten kills to lead the Owls to a 25-21, 18-25, 25-13, 25-12 victory in an American Midwest Conference match at the Mabee Sports Complex in Hannibal, Mo.
The Owls didn't take their first lead of the first set until Rivera's kill put them ahead 19-18. HLGU led 12-3 in the second set and was never threatened as Ashlyn Spay had the kill to clinch the set. The Owls (6-7, 1-0 AMC) dominated the third and fourth sets to clinch the victory. Andi Fudge lead the Trojans (2-13, 0-1 AMC) with seven kills and 12 digs.
