Extra points: This will be the first of four games played over two days in the GLVC/GMAC Challenge at Truman State. No. 23 Findlay and Truman State are the other two teams involved. The Hawks will play Findlay at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Hawks lost both games in the conference crossover challenge last year and are 2-8 since the season kickoff events began in 2013. The Hawks will play four straight games, including an exhibition at Southeast Missouri State, on the road or at a neutral site before the Nov. 20 home opener against Missouri Western. Cedarville played an exhibition Tuesday night at Akron, losing 70-50, although the Yellow Jackets trailed by only two at halftime. Freshman guard Branden Maughmer led the Yellow Jackets with 15 points and seven rebounds, and he will fit in nicely with a veteran team that returns four of its top five scorers. Grant Zawadzki, a 6-foot senior guard, averaged 12.6 points and three assists per game last season, while Conner TenHove, a 6-7 sophomore forward, averaged 11.4 points and 5.8 rebounds. Cedarville was picked seventh in the GMAC preseason poll.
