New London driver arrested after vehicle strikes house in Hannibal

HANNIBAL, Mo. -- Hannibal police on Thursday arrested a 21-year-old New London man after the vehicle he was driving left St. Mary's Avenue and struck a house in the 3200 block.

No one was home at the time of the crash, which caused extensive damage to the front of the house.

The driver, who was not identified, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated and taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for medical evaluation.

Police say the incident remains under investigation.
