Federal offices will be closed Wednesday in observance of a national day of mourning after the death of President George H.W. Bush.
President Donald Trump has signed an executive order creating the day of mourning.
Trump wrote on Twitter on Saturday that: "President George H.W. Bush led a long, successful and beautiful life. Whenever I was with him I saw his absolute joy for life and true pride in his family. His accomplishments were great from beginning to end. He was a truly wonderful man and will be missed by all!"
Federal employees will receive basic pay on Wednesday and those on leave or vacation will have another leave or vacation day coming. Employees whose jobs are considered vital to national security, defense or other essential public business will still report for work.
