PITTSFIELD, Ill. -- The Illinois State Rifle Association will host a town hall meeting in Pittsfield as part of ongoing efforts to rally gun owners across the state to preserve Second Amendment rights.
"The Second Amendment is under attack constantly in Illinois, and we expect those attacks to intensify in the next legislative session," said Richard Pearson, Illinois State Rifle Association executive director. "We hold these events throughout the state to give gun owners an opportunity to hear from us on what the threats to their liberties are and how they can be involved in these important legislative and court battles."
The meeting will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the American Legion post 152, 1302 W. Washington St.
Pearson said gun owners can no longer sit on the sidelines and hope for the best.
"If every gun owner in Illinois joined with us, we could do more than just stop bad legislation. We could actually advance a positive agenda for honest gun owners in Illinois," Pearson said.
The event is free. More information is available at ISRA.org.
