QUINCY -- The Salvation Army and WGEM have teamed up to "Fight for Good" during the 34th annual WGEM Bucket Blitz in Quincy and Hannibal, Mo.
The WGEM Bucket Blitz will take place 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10 through Thursday, Dec. 13 at the Quincy Mall South Entrance and from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11 and Wednesday, Dec. 12 at Steamboat Bend Shopping Center in Hannibal.
The 2018 goal for Quincy is to raise more than $30,000 and for Hannibal to raise more than $7,500.
Salvation Army Area Commander Major Andrew Miller said the organization looks forward to the Bucket Blitz every year.
"The 2018 Christmas Campaign theme is ‘Fight for Good,' and that is exactly what WGEM, along with every donor, is doing when they make a donation during the WGEM Bucket Blitz," Miller said. "All donations go toward helping the Salvation Army fight for good by feeding, clothing and providing shelter to those most in need in our community."
All proceeds from the Salvation Army Tree of Lights Christmas Campaign provide a variety of programs and services to assist families in need including Christmas food baskets, toys for children and dinner on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
