MU Extension offers retirement planning program

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Registration deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, for a three-part program on estate, succession and retirement planning for farm or business presented by University of Missouri Extension.

"Your Farm, Your Business, Your Future" will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 17, 24 and 31 at several locations, including the Pike County Courthouse, 115 W. Main in Bowling Green, and the Monroe City Senior Nutrition Center, 314 S. Main in Monroe City. In case of inclement weather, the class will be extended to Feb. 7.

Topics include goal setting, assessing the strengths and weaknesses of a farm or business, the probate process in Missouri, estate planning tools and calculating retirement needs.

The cost is $110 per person plus $50 for each additional person from the same business or farm. A light meal will be provided each night.

Participants also may register for a single session at a cost of $45 for the first person and $20 for the second person from the same business or farm.
