Harsh winter is a killer for outdoor animals, birds

To The Herald-Whig:

We as people are uncomfortable with these winter conditions. The snow, the ice and frigid temperatures are all unpleasant.

But conditions for animals and birds are much more serious. The creeks and ponds are all frozen over, denying them water. The ground, as a food source, is covered with snow and ice.

Many animals are starving. This is a killer winter.
