ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- The Quincy University men's volleyball team lost a marathon third set and went on to lose 20-25, 25-22, 33-35, 13-25 to Lourdes University on Sunday at the Lindenwood Invitational.

The Hawks led 13-9 in the first set, but an 8-0 run put Lourdes ahead for good. The second set was tied at 21, but the Hawks used two kills by Zach Reider to help pull away. Lourdes served for the match eight times in the third set, but the Hawks tied the score each time until a service error and a hitting error ended it. Lourdes took a 10-3 lead in the fourth set and never was threatened.

Omari Wheeler had 16 kills for the Hawks (4-6), while Jacob Sheets had seven blocks and Matt Friddle had 44 assists.
