Will U.S. continue to devalue human life?

To The Herald-Whig:

History is fascinating. Many books and commentaries have been written on why dynasties and kingdoms have risen and then collapsed.

The Roman Empire built great roads for travel and leisure and aquaducts to transport water. As years passed, leisure and entertainment turned sadistic, and humans were thrown to wild animals. You can imagine what happened -- no value for human life.

In another part of the Mediterranean world, God's chosen people, the Israelites, even turned to sadistic ways. God had warned them to not act as their pagan neighbors lived. The struggle between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan was intense. History tells us the 10 tribes of Israel were hauled off into captivity and never heard from again.

Fast forward to the 20th century.

A country that felt a certain race of people should be eliminated was led by the likes of Josef Mengele, known as the Angel of Death, and Klaus Barbie, the Butcher of Lyon. This Third Reich was hopefully destroyed forever.

In the 21st century, the country we live in is being infiltrated by a class of people who are pushing for the liquidation of life right up to when a new human being will be born. Are these modern-day leaders following the lead of the Roman Empire, the northern tribes of Israel and the Nazi Third Reich?

What will our legacy be: to follow the God of Abraham or to yield and follow the kingdom of Satan? It is a question each of us must ask ourselves and take it to God in prayer.
