College roundup: C-SC baseball swept in doubleheader

The Culver-Stockton College baseball team didn't score as it was swept in a doubleheader against Bethel University Saturday in McKenzie, Tenn. C-SC lost the first game 1-0 and lost the nightcap 6-0.

The Wildcats (0-3) had just three hits in the opener against Bethel pitcher Trevor Bishop. He recorded nine strikeouts and didn't allow a walk. Bethel scored the lone run in the bottom of the first inning after Baylor Steelman walked, advanced to third on an error and scored on a sacrifice. The Wildcats collected just four hits in the nightcap. Bethel took the lead with a four-run fourth inning, highlighted by an RBI double.

Lewis 3, Quincy 0: The Quincy University men's volleyball team lost in straight sets in Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association action at Pepsi Arena. Omari Wheeler led the Hawks (4-8) with 12 kills and two service aces, while Brendon Estrada had eight kills. Matt Friddle dished out 22 assists.
