Workshop planned for nonprofits public relations

QUINCY -- A workshop for area nonprofit organizations on how to improve public relations, set for next month.

Amy Vaughn, a nonprofit leader and public relations professional from Hannibal, Mo., will facilitate the workshop "Public Relations -- The Secret Ingredient in Any Successful Fundraising Plan" from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Quincy Maine Center, 535 Maine.

Vaughn, founder and consultant for Be the Change for Your Community, LLC, will review various topics, including how increased media coverage can help nonprofits with fundraising, how local media develops perceptions of their audiences, how to write a press release that will get results and why its important for nonprofits to positively capture the attention of the local media.

Registration for the workshop is $50 per person, and pre-registration is required. Registration is limited, but should the workshop fill up, a second workshop will be considered.
