Missouri boys basketball roundup: Monroe City captures CCC title

C.E. Talton scored 17 points to help the Monroe City boys basketball team top Macon 61-40 on the way to winning the Clarence Cannon Conference title Friday night.

Talton scored 11 of his 17 points in the first half, while Bryce Stark added 15 points for the Panthers (21-5, 7-1 CCC).

Monroe City led Macon (9-14, 3-3) 27-14 at halftime.

Palmyra 63, Highland 38: Eight players scored for the Panthers in an easy CCC victory.

Ragar McKinney scored seven points in a 21-point first quarter for the Panthers (20-4, 4-1 CCC). Palmyra led by 10 after the first eight minutes.

Bill Nunnelly scored seven points in the third quarter to help Palmyra extend a 12-point halftime lead. Nunnelly led Palmyra with 12 points, while McKinney added 11. Zane Meyers also scored 11 points.

Noah Parrish led Highland (4-16, 0-7) with 12 points.

Centralia 61, Clark County 36: The Indians struggled in the second half of a CCC loss.

Clark County (11-11, 2-3) trailed 25-24 at halftime, but were outscored 16-0 in the third quarter. No Indian scored in double figures.

Mark Twain 58, Louisiana 28: The Tigers held the Bulldogs to just two points in the third quarter on the way to an easy victory.

The Tigers (12-11) led 46-19 entering the fourth quarter.

Preston Eckler led Mark Twain with 25 points on the strength of seven 3-pointers. Jace Barton added 15 points, and Kaden Elliott scored 11.

Ryan Capps led Louisiana (3-20) with 10 points.
