Hawks lose eighth straight in MIVA play

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The Quincy University men's volleyball team lost its eighth straight match in Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association play, falling to Purdue Fort Wayne 25-14, 25-17, 25-18 Monday night.

Quincy (4-14, 0-8 MIVA) fell behind 7-2 in the opening set and couldn't respond. In the second set, the Mastadons (11-7, 5-2) used a 4-0 run to build a 20-11 lead and pull away.

The match was tied at 14 in the third set before Fort Wayne scored eight straight points.

Blake Sprecher and Omari Wheeler each had eight kills for Quincy. Adam Rogan dished out 21 assists.
