Splitting doubleheaders has become the theme of the Quincy University softball team's trip to Florida.

QU split its final two games of the NTC Spring Games, defeating Dominican 4-2 before falling to Post 6-2 Tuesday in Clermont, Fla.

Against Dominican, Morgan Heckman's RBI triple scored Kay Bettendorf for a 1-0 advantage. Megan Sharpshair drove in Heckman in the fourth on an RBI double, and two more runs in the sixth made it 4-0.

Dominican answered with two runs in the bottom of the sixth, but only had two hits outside that frame.

Alex DeVaney threw 52/3 innings for QU and allowed two runs on five hits.

In the second game, the Hawks were held to just five hits.

A six-run frame was QU's undoing.

Clarke 3, Culver-Stockton 0: The Wildcats lost in straight sets of 25-16, 25-23, 25-12 in Dubuque, Iowa.

Erin Lee led C-SC with nine kills, while Jayden Happel dished out 22 assists.

Grover Page Classic: Hannibal-LaGrange University's Mariano Mauri carded a three-day score of 240 to tie for 41st in Jackson, Tenn. The men's golf team finished 10th out of 10 teams with a 985.

USPTR Tennis Fest: The Quincy University men's and women's tennis teams both secured 9-0 victories over FDU-Florham in Hilton Head, S.C.
