Joseph R. Coelho, a biology professor at Quincy University, in collaboration with Charles W. Holliday of Lafayette College and Jon M. Hastings of Northern Kentucky University, recently published an article titled "Intra-and Interspecific Prey Theft in Cicada Killers." The study examines prey theft in cicada killer wasp in Ruby, Ariz., and Easton, Pa. The paper was published in the Journal of Insect Science, Volume 19, Issue 1.

SBJW Insurance recently joined Valley Insurance Agency Alliance, a family of over 120 independent insurance agencies in Missouri and Illinois. SBJW Insurance was founded this year by owner Sara Bruns, who has more than 15 years of industry experience. The full-service agency specializes in home, auto, business, life and health insurance.

Appointments

Mary Jane Clark has been named director of the West Central Illinois Area Health Education Center Network Program at UnityPoint Health-Memorial Hospital in Carthage. She was the grant and wellness coordinator for the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network. She has also been Supporting Onboarding and Retention of Rural Nurses coordinator for the ICAHN nurse residency program.

Steven Damm has joined Klingner and Associates P.C. in Quincy as an enginer in the mechanical/electrical engineering department. Based in Klingner's Quincy office, he will design mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Damm has 17 years of experience. He has a bachelor's degree in architectural engineering from Kansas State University.

Dan Dion has been promoted to senior vice president of consumer lending at Marine Bank and Trust in Carthage. He has worked at the bank for over 23 years.

Honors

Seven members of Davis and Associates Inc. were recognized at the Quincy Association of Realtors Multiple Listing Service Achievement Awards for excellence in sales production. Those honored were Kathy Citro, Diamond Award; Rick Davis, managing broker and Janet Canavan, Gold Award; Mary Ellen Davis and Melissa Reis, Silver Award; and Sharon Bradney and Linda Snider, Bronze Award.
