PAYSON, Ill. -- Two Payson men were arrested Wednesday after a reported aggravated assault in Payson.

Christopher R. Kemper, 34, and Heath E. Milan, 34, both of the 500 block of Magnolia, were arrested.

The Adams County Sheriff's Department said it received a report of an assault that occurred early Wednesday, and the two men were arrested after an investigation.

Court records show that Milan and Kemper were charged with one count of aggravated assault, a Class 4 felony, along with misdemeanor charges of aggravated assault and unlawful use of weapons.

Charging documents allege that the two shined or flashed a laser gun sight in concert with a firearm in an area with two people.

Records show that both appeared Thursday in Adams County Circuit Court, where bond was set at $25,000 for Kemper and $7,500 for Milan.
