The Quincy High School softball team dropped a pair of one-run decisions to Galesburg 4-3, 1-0 in a Western Big Six Conference doubleheader Saturday in Galesburg, Ill.

Andrea Sampson hit a walk-off solo home run with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning of the first game. The Blue Devils (10-7, 0-4 WB6) forced extra innings with Lauren Kroeger's solo home run with one out in the top of the seventh.

Galesburg (10-11, 3-3) scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead. Quincy answered with two runs in the third when Kiley Espinoza singled home Kroeger. Abbie Neally followed with a double to score Espinoza.

Kroeger had two of the Blue Devils' six hits. Neally pitched all 7 1/3 innings, striking out seven, walking none and allowing five hits. Only one of the four runs Galesburg scored was earned.

The Silver Streaks scored the only run of Game 2 in the bottom of the fifth inning. Mercades Benson scored on Alyssa Villareal's groundout. Quincy had only one baserunner after that -- Neally, who singled with one out in the sixth.

The Blue Devils were held to four hits in the nightcap, including Kennady Fleer's one-out double in the fourth. MaKayla Wand went the distance, striking out five, walking one and allowing seven hits.

Quincy Notre Dame 10, Jacksonville 0: The Raiders banged out 15 hits in a non-conference victory at Jacksonville, Ill.

QND (13-2) scored in every inning except the third. Catherine Steinkamp's double -- the Raiders' only extra-base hit -- scored Madison Gilligan for a 1-0 lead in the first inning.

After scoring in the second and fourth, the Raiders extended their lead to 5-0 with Corrine Dickerman's two-run single in the fifth.

Gilligan and Kegan Wall had three hits apiece for QND, while Kailey Wall, Steinkamp and Dickerman each had two hits.

Eryn Cornwell pitched the first six innings, striking out 15 batters, walking five and allowing only hits. Lexi Schaffer pitched the seventh, striking out two.

Brown County fell behind 6-0 in the second inning against Calhoun. The Hornets scored their first two runs in the third with Karsyn Moorman's two-run home run.

Brown County was held to five hits, including two each from Moorman and Peyton Wegs.
