HANNIBAL, Mo. -- A Hannibal man faces charges in connection with a Friday afternoon disturbance at a Hannibal bank.

Hannibal police responded at 2:55 p.m. to a report of a man inside F&M Bank, 505 Broadway, who was wielding a hammer-like weapon and demanding money.

Gary L. Haynes, 42, of Hannibal, was arrested without incident on a charge of robbery, placed on a 24-hour hold and released to the Marion County Jail.

No employees of the bank were injured during the incident.

The Hannibal Police Department reported Marion County Circuit Court on Saturday issued an arrest warrant for $50,000 cash only bond on Haynes for unlawful use of a weapon.
