Playing from behind after the top of the first inning Wednesday, the Pittsfield baseball team clawed its way into the lead in the fifth inning and held on for a 4-3 victory over New Berlin in Pittsfield.

Cade Tomhave's solo home run in the bottom of the first cut the Pretzels' lead in half, and John Scranton doubled in the second inning and scored on an error to tie the game. In the fifth, Nate Scranton doubled and Tomhave walked before Isaac Shaw singled to drive in the go-ahead run. Tomhave scored on a throwing error for a 4-2 advantage.

New Berlin got the first two batters on base in the seventh and scored on a fielder's choice groundout. After an error put runners at first and second with one out, Pittsfield's Brock Lander got a strikeout and a groundout to end the game.
