College golf roundup: Bettis leads C-SC's charge after first round

Hunter Bettis carded a 1-under par 71 to help the Culver-Stockton College men's golf team sit tied for first place after the first round of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships Monday at Club of Porto Cima in Sunrise Beach, Mo.

Bettis has a three-stroke lead atop the individual leaderboard. C-SC finished with a 305 and is tied with Mount Mercy.

Brock Hirn is fifth with 75, while Conor Bronson is sixth sixth a 76.

AMC Championships: Lynzie Emerson and Rebecca Sheridan of the Hannibal-LaGrange women's golf team both sit tied for 23rd at Redfield Golf and Country Club in Eugene, Mo.

William Woods' Maria Zrodowska leads the field at 2-under par 69.
