The Quincy Notre Dame and Illini West softball teams have combined to win 50 games this season.

They will battle each other for the right to celebrate No. 51.

The Raiders and Chargers both posted shutouts Wednesday in Carthage, Ill., winning Class 2A Illini West Regional semifinals and setting up a showdown at 4:30 p.m. Friday for the regional championship.

QND (24-7) got a three-hit shutout from freshman Eryn Cornwell and beat Monmouth-Roseville 6-0. Cornwell struck out 10 and never felt threatened as the Titans had only one runner reach third base. In the fifth, the Titans first two hitters reached safely on a single and a hit batter. After a strikeout, a sacrifice bunt moved both runners into scoring position.

Cornwell got out of the jam by striking out Monmouth's Poal Scott looking.

The Raiders grabbed the lead in the first inning when Madison Gilligan led off with the single to left field, stole second and scored on Kailey Wall's single. Two runs scored in the second when Wall reached safely on an error, and a one-out walk to Catherine Steinkamp in the third led to another run as she scored when Lindsay Fischer reached safely on an error.

Cornwell had an RBI single in the fourth, and Wall added an RBI single in the sixth. She had two of the Raiders' five hits.

In the first semifinal, Illini West's Elizabeth Tally also tossed a three-hit shutout and Ali Bliss drove in a pair of runs as the Chargers beat West Prairie/Bushnell-Prairie City 9-0.

Bliss scored on a wild pitch in the first and hit an RBI single in the second that helped Illini West to a 3-0 lead. The Chargers drove in five runs in the third as Paige Gutting, Morgan Broadwell and Bliss each had a run-scoring single. Daytona Dooley had an RBI double in the fifth.

Gracie McDowell drove in a pair of runs with a pair of hits for Illini West, while Talley struck out five.

Jacksonville Routt 8, Brown County 0: The Hornets had seven hits, but left seven runners stranded in the Class 1A Brown County Regional semifinal in Mount Sterling, Ill. Routt jumped to a 4-0 lead after one inning, tacked on a run in the second and three in the fourth.

Ellie Kassing had a pair of hits for the Hornets (10-23). Routt's Emily Cosgriff tossed a complete game shutout with a pair of strikeouts.

Carrollton 11, Griggsville-Perry 1: The Tornadoes were held to one run and two hits in the Class 1A Griggsville-Perry Regional semifinals.
