Once the Liberty baseball team started scoring, it never stopped.

The fifth-seeded Eagles scored at least one run in each of the final six innings Thursday and knocked off third-seeded Unity 11-1 in the semifinals of the Class 1A Central Regional in Camp Point.

Liberty (13-11) advances to face ninth-seeded Southeastern at 11 a.m. Saturday for the regional championship.

After Unity starter Logan Voth retired Liberty in order in the top of the first, the Mustangs grabbed the lead in the bottom of the inning as Austin Cornwell delivered an RBI single after an error and walk got a runner into scoring position.

A two-out rally in the top of the second gave the Eagles the lead for good.

Craig Doane's ground ball resulted in an error that plated Ryan Hedrick with the tying run with one out. After a strikeout, Wolf had an infield single that plated two runs and Hayden Spilker singled to left field to score another.

Liberty kept tacking on runs every inning. A Mustangs error allowed a run to score in the third, and Kutter Thompson had an RBI single in the fourth. Spilker had a two-out, two-run single in the fifth, Kasparie and Doane hit solo home runs in the sixth and Spilker scored on an error in the seventh.

Spilker went 3 for 5 with three RBIs, while Kasparie was 3 for 5. Thompson, Hedrick and Doane had two hits apiece. Cornwell went 3 for 4 as the Mustangs had just five hits.

Brown County 12, Triopia 11: The fourth-seeded Hornets scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to force extra innings and Gabe Blakeley delivered a walk-off double in the eighth in the Class 1A Triopia Regional semifinals in Concord, Ill.

Brown County (14-12-1) will face top-seeded Jacksonville Routt at 11 a.m. Saturday in the regional championship.

Trailing by one heading into the seventh, the sixth-seeded Trojans scored three times with two outs to take an 11-9 lead. Brown County's Nathan Hendricker led off the bottom of the inning with a double, and after a one-out walk to Blakeley, Chance Fuqua singled to load the bases. After a strikeout for the second out of the inning, Mason Henry drew a walk to force in a run.

Collin Boylen was hit by a pitch in the next at-bat to force in the tying the run.

Hencdricker struck out the side in the top of the eighth, and Brown County's Bryce Bergman led off the bottom with a double to put the winning run in scoring position. Hendricker walked and both runners advanced on a balk, forcing Triopia to intentionally walk Gavin Miller. Blakeley followed with his game-ending double.

Miller and Lanny Sussenbach each went 3 for 4 for Brown County, while Hendricker, Blakeley and Fuqua had two hits apiece. Hendricker earned the victory in relief, striking out six and allowing two hits and no earned runs over four innings.

Sherrard 16, Illini West 10: An 11-run deficit after four innings was too much for the Chargers to overcome in the loss in the Class 2A Rushville-Industry Regional semifinals in Rushville.

The Chargers trailed 2-1 going to the bottom of the third when the Tigers got two-run home runs from Kyle Yeater and Casey Baugh as part of a six-run frame. Back-to-back run-scoring doubles by Yeater and Nate Olson made it a 12-1 game in the fourth.

Illini West began its comeback in the fifth as Nick Vorhies led off with a single and scored on Lincoln Gooding's double. After a passed ball moved the runner to third, Carter Boyer delivered an RBI single. In the sixth, Vorhies had a two-run single to kickstart a seven-run rally. Kellen Dysert had a two-run single and Michael Lord jacked a three-run home run.

Sherrard reliever Hartman put Illini West down in order in the seventh to end the game.

Vorhies went 4 for 5 with three runs scored, while Dysert and Carter Wildrick had two hits apiece.

Macomb 11, Quincy High School 7: The Blue Devils finished with more errors than hits in suffering the loss at home.

The Bombers used a four-run third inning to take the lead as they took advantage of two errors, a hit batter and a walk. In Macomb's three-run fourth, Quincy allowed the first two batters to reach on errors. Two hit batters and a passed ball contributed to the Bombers' three-run fifth.

The Blue Devils scored twice in the fourth and two more runs in the fifth but couldn't generate a rally in the final two innings. Wyatt Kill had two hits for Quincy, which had just five hits but committed six errors. Three Quincy pitchers combined to walk five batters and hit three.
