QUINCY -- Online registration for the 2019-20 school year opens July 15 for Quincy Public Schools.
"One of the things that changed from last year is we opened online registration much earlier last spring, and parents weren't allowed to pay all the fees," QPS Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Kim Dinkheller said.
"Now with opening July 15, it allows for parents to pay fees when they go online to register. We had heard a lot of feedback from families about how to register, pay fees and have it all said and done if they choose to do online registration."
Families also can visit individual school buildings to register students.
"Online might not be the best for everybody, and so we accommodate that through having these open houses for people to come in and do registration inside the building," Dinkheller said. "They still do registration online, but they can come into the building to be able to complete that registration just like we've had for the past couple of years."
In-building registration will be available at:
º Early Childhood and Family Center -- 8 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 30; Wednesday, July 31; and 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1.
º K-5 elementary schools -- 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1.
º Quincy Junior High School -- 7 to 10 a.m. and 3:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1.
º Quincy High School -- 7 to 10 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1.
Students/parents can walk schedules during registration at QJHS and QHS. QJHS also will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 5 to 8 and Aug. 13 for students/parents to walk schedules.
A QHS new student/parent meeting will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 1, and the building will remain open until 7:30 p.m. for students/parents to walk schedules.
"The high school and junior high like to have the buildings open for students to walk schedules," Dinkheller said. "We tried to pick some times to allow for parents and students in multiple buildings to be able to attend both buildings."
