CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Chandler Hayden officially has a chance to end her high school track and field career with two medals.
The Pittsfield senior thrower advanced to the Class 2A finals in the shot put and the discus Friday afternoon at O'Brien Stadium on the campus of Eastern Illinois University.
Hayden, a University of Tennessee commit, threw the discus 129 feet, 4 inches and had a distance of 40-6 3/4 in the shot put.
Two other Pittsfield athletes also have a chance to win a medal.
Olivia Campbell qualified in the shot put at 36-6.
Katie Cox advanced in the 300-meter hurdles after winning her heat in 45.92 seconds.
