Five students from John Wood Community College's Mount Sterling Education Center recived certified nursing assistant pins at the Mount Sterling Senior Citizens Center. Those honored were Colette Berry, Amy Coleman, Becky Cooper, Sidney Howell and Hannah Parm. Awards were presented to Howell and Parm for highest grade point average, and Cooper was given the Most Compassionate award.


Clark Andelin, an MD in obstetrics/gynecology, has joined Blessing Physician Services. He is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Andelin has a medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine, Salt Lake City, and completed his residency at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia.

Dr. Omar Tahir, a vascular surgeon, has joined Quincy Medical Group. He has a medical degree from Charles University, First Faculty of Medicine in Prague, Czech Republic. He completed his residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center and University of Kansas Medical Center. Tahir completed fellowships at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Burn and Wound Surgery and at Rush University Medical Center in Vascular Surgery.


First Mid Bank & Trust recognized these employees at its Quincy Main banking center: Linda Walker, assistant vice president, mortgage lender, 25 years: John Johannes, vice president, commercial lender, 20 years; and Sara Nebe, customer service representative, 20 years.
