Three injured in collision on Mark Twain Lake

PERRY, Mo. -- Three Niota, Ill., residents were injured, including one seriously, after the boat they were riding in was struck by another boat about 5:15 p.m. Saturday in Mark Twain Lake near Ely Branch Cove.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a 1998 Ranger Captiva piloted by Austin L. Utterback, 23, of Montrose, Iowa, went over a wake created by another boat and struck the side of a slowing 1999 Crownline piloted by Benjamin D. Ralph, 41, of Niota.

The patrol said two passengers in the Crownline were taken by Monroe County Ambulance to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill. Stephanie M. McEntee, 41, suffered serious injuries, and Liam McEntee, 7, suffered minor injuries.

Ralph reported minor injuries and was taken to Blessing Hospital by private vehicle.

Utterback did not report any injuries.

The Ralls County Sheriff's Department also assisted the patrol at the scene.
