When I was a kid, I wanted to be ... a professional athlete because I spent most of my childhood playing sports.

What would you rather be doing right now? Reading or listening to a podcast. I love learning.

Shhhhhh! Don't tell anyone that ... I have a hard time not crying when other people cry.

Other than your wedding day and/or the birth of your children, what was your proudest moment? Being a godparent/sponsor for one of our students who came into the Catholic church Easter of 2018.

It really stinks when ... pro-lifers are accused of not caring about mothers and babies after birth. Places like Birthright in Quincy smash that myth.

What word in the dictionary would your face be next to? Energetic.

I always laugh when ... my wife tells jokes. She's hilarious.

Invite any three people, living or dead, to dinner. Who are they? Of course, Jesus. Also, St. Alphonsus Liguori and St. Teresa of Avila. I would ask them how I can be more holy.

At the end of a really long day at work, I like to ... spend time with my family.

People who knew me in high school thought I was ... obsessed with basketball.

My most unforgettable brush with greatness was ... a few people who are famous in the Catholic youth ministry world -- Matt Maher, Justin Fatica, Jackie Angel.

I would drop all my plans tonight if I had the chance to ... go to Rome or the Holy Land.

If someone gave me a million dollars, there is STILL no way I would ... stop doing youth ministry.

America should be more concerned about ... having faith in God and following His commandments.

I'm OK if there's ever a national shortage of ... books.

When I'm on the internet, I always go to ... Catholic podcasts or the St. Louis Cardinals website.

What is the most useful piece of advice you have ever received? "Let your constant practice be to offer yourself to God, that He may do with you what He pleases." -- St. Alphonsus Liguori.

When I'm cruising down the road, I'm likely listening to ... talk radio, Christian music or the Cardinal game.

I always get sentimental when ... my kids do something to make me proud.

The older I get, the more I realize ... how much I don't know.

If I had one "do-over," I would ... have a stronger relationship with God in high school and college.

My favorite item of clothing is ... my Duke hat. It has been through a lot with me.

If I've learned anything at all ... it is to keep an eternal perspective. What effect does this have on my eternal life?

Mike Young, 38, is director of Christian formation/campus ministry at Quincy Notre Dame High School. He also works part-time at his family's business, Savemore Carpets. Young and his beautiful wife, Mandy, have six kids.
