QUINCY -- A Quincy woman faces forgery charges tied to the use of counterfeit currency at Wendy's and Culver's restaurants.

The Quincy Police Department said that Gunta G. Prancane, 48, of 1601 S. 24th, was found with a substantial amount of counterfeit $10 bills Thursday and was arrested.

Wendy's employees told Quincy police officers that a woman came through the drive-thru at 7:45 p.m. and tried to pass a counterfeit $10 bill. Employees said the same woman had tried to pass counterfeit $10 bills on multiple occasions, and they were able to provide a good description of the woman and the Illinois vehicle registration number.

Officers identified and located Prancane, who remains in the Adams County Jail.

The department said employees of both restaurants say Prancane is a regular customer, and counterfeit $10 bills could be circulating in the area.
