QUINCY -- Quincy police are investigating a shooting that took place about 4 p.m. Friday in the vicinity of Seventh and College.
A press release from the Quincy Police Department said officers were flagged down near Seventh and College shortly after 4 p.m. and encountered a 17-year-old female who had suffered a gunshot wound to her arm. Police said the wound did not appear to be life threatening.
The woman was taken by ambulance to Blessing Hospital's emergency room, where she was treated and released.
Quincy police detectives were called in to assist with the investigation, which is ongoing. No arrests have been made.

Police said the shooting does not appear to have been a random act, and there is no reason to believe the community is in danger.
