Crash south of Hannibal injures three

HANNIBAL, Mo. -- Three people were seriously injured in a Monday night crash south of Hannibal.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2014 Honda Odyssey driven by Dael C. Hedglin, 39, of Hannibal, was northbound on U.S. 61, 4 miles south of Hannibal, at 10:39 p.m. The patrol said the vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, and the driver overcorrected before the vehicle struck a guard rail and came to rest in the median.

Hedglin and a passenger, Katherine M. Hedglin, 39, of Hannibal, were taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital with serious injuries. A second passenger, Caitlyn L. Daniel, 27, of St. Clair, was taken to Hannibal Regional with serious injuries.

All three were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.

The patrol was assisted by the New London Fire Department.
