PERRY, Mo. -- A Springfield, Ill., teenager drowned Friday night in Mark Twain Lake after police said he entered deeper water.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that 17-year-old Kamerion L. Rice was wading near the shoreline, a half mile north of Blackjack Marina, at 6:48 p.m. when he walked into deeper water and was unable to swim. His body was found about 1 p.m. Saturday.
Assisting in the search were the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Ralls County Sheriff's Department and the Missouri State Park Rangers.
