Three injured in Shelby County UTV crash

LENTNER, Mo. -- Three people were injured in a utility vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Shelby County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a 2018 Polaris RZR driven by Cole M. Collins, 21, of Lentner, was heading south at 12:44 a.m. on private property just west of Route A when Collins lost control going down a hill and the vehicle overturned.

Collins and passenger Shelby L. Sires, 20, of Moberly, were taken by Salt River Ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries. Another passenger, Sidney J. Wear, 22, of Shelbina, also was taken to University Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.
