QUINCY -- The Adams County Sheriff's Department said it has received multiple reports from residents who have received phone calls from people claiming to be from the Social Security Administration.

The callers are asking for personal information pertaining to banking and Social Security numbers and are telling residents that a warrant will be issued if the information is not provided.

The Sheriff's Department said that the calls are not from legitimate representatives from the Social Security Administration, and residents should consider the calls a scam.
