NORTH PLAINS, Ore. -- Luke Guthrie has put himself in good position to earn his Korn Ferry Tour card for next season.

He's still chasing his PGA Tour card as well.

Guthrie shot a 3-under 68 Friday in the second round of the Portland Open, the final regular season event on the Korn Ferry Tour. Guthrie is 7-under overall and tied for 22nd going into the weekend, just three strokes out of the top five.

Guthrie began the week 65th in the Korn Ferry points standings with the top 25 earning a PGA Tour card and the next 50 guaranteed full status on the Korn Ferry Tour next season. He is currently projected to rise to 61st.

Guthrie started the second with two bogeys and two birdies on his first five holes and ended up making the turn at 1-under. He had three birdies on the back nine before taking a bogey on his final hole.

The Korn Ferry Tour finals begin next week. The top 25 golfers in the three-tournament playoff series will earn PGA Tour cards for next season.
