Three injured in crash while fleeing police, patrol says

MONROE CITY, Mo. -- Three people were injured Tuesday night in a Ralls County crash as they were fleeing from police, a report says.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that a 2016 Buick Verano driven by Makynzie Z. Campbell, 20, of Quincy, Ill., was traveling west on U.S. 24 at 7:11 p.m. The patrol said the vehicle was fleeing from officers and attempted to exit at Route Z, at Monroe City, but ran off the road, became airborne and hit the ground, where it came to rest.

Campbell was taken by Survival Flight to Blessing Hospital in Quincy with moderate injuries. A passenger, Darius L. Lilly, 24, of Quincy, was taken by Monroe City Ambulance to Blessing with moderate injuries, and a second passenger, Megan A. Winner, 21, of Quincy, was taken by Air Evac to Blessing with moderate injuries.

Campbell was wearing a seat belt, but Lilly and Winner were not, the patrol said.

The patrol was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff's Department, Monroe City Police Department, Ralls County Sheriff's Department and Monroe City Fire Department.
