Posted: Aug. 21, 2019 2:40 pm

QUINCY -- The Quincy Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service conducted a sex offender/violent offender compliance check Tuesday in Quincy and found at least two violations.

The QPD said 55 offender addresses were checked, and 34 of the offenders were found to be in compliance and living at their registered address.

In addition, 19 compliance checks resulted in a "negative contact" with anyone at the registered location. Police say those 19 addresses will be re-checked at a future date.

The QPD said two offenders were found to be noncompliant. An investigation will be carried out, and possible charges may be filed for violations of the Illinois Sex Offender Registration Act.

Police say anyone with information regarding a noncompliant sex offender or violent offender is urged to call the Quincy Police Department.
