SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- A Payson man facing federal child pornography charges has entered a guilty plea.

Court records show that Skyler M. Durbin on Aug. 6 pleaded guilty to two counts of child pornography before Magistrate Judge Tom Schanzle-Haskins. Durbin also faced two counts of receipt and distribution of child pornography.

U.S. District Judge Sue Myerscough concurred with the acceptance of the guilty plea on Wednesday. Sentencing is set for Dec. 6.

Durbin, 24, was accused of receiving and distributing images of child pornography, as well as possessing images of child pornography, on Dec. 26, 2018, and Jan. 31, 2019.

He was arrested Jan. 31 by the Adams County Sheriff's Department on two counts of possession of child pornography with intent to disseminate, two counts of possession of child pornography with a prior conviction and two felony counts of violating the Sex Offender Registration Act.

Durbin was convicted of one count of possession of child pornography in 2017 in Jackson County, where he was sentenced to four years of probation.

The local charges were dropped after the federal indictment was unsealed in April.

He has been in federal custody since the indictment.
