Quincy government offices closed Monday

QUINCY -- The city of Quincy has announced numerous closings for Monday in observance of Labor Day.

City Hall will be closed, as well as Central Services.

There will be no garbage and recycling pickup Monday, but there will be yard waste pickup. Garbage and recycling normally picked up on Monday will be collected Tuesday along with normal Tuesday routes.

Quincy Transit Lines will operate on its holiday schedule Monday.

Amid an uptick in the number of COVID-19 cases in the county and on the advice of the Adams County Health Department, city officials said on Thursday that all city meetings will again include an option for officials to participate virtually.

Another street resurfacing project is moving forward thanks in part to an unanimous decision by the Quincy City Council on Monday to spend $850,000 a multi-part project along the city's north side.

Robinson family descendants seek cemetery annexation

The Robinson Cemetery will soon be a part of the city of Hannibal. During Tuesday night's meeting of the Hannibal City Council at city hall first reading was given a bill that would see the cemetery annexed into the city limits.
