Wilcats fend off Trojans in five sets
The Culver-Stockton College women's volleyball team won the final two sets to rally for a 22-25, 25-22, 28-30, 25-21, 17-15 victory Tuesday night over Hannibal-LaGrange at the Mabee Sports Complex. The Wildcats have beaten the Trojans 14 straight times.
Freshman outside hitter Madison McClain led the Wildcats (3-2) with her third double-double of the season, finishing with 19 kills and 12 digs. Jenna Lord had 14 kills, and Ali Scott had 11 kills. Maryanna Catrine had 28 assists, while Taylor Durham had 21 digs,
Ashlyn Spay led HLGU (1-6) with 14 kills and Shirah Foor added 13 kills and 27 assists. Amber Glazebrook had 38 digs,
Blue Devils sweep Streaks
Otone Odajima and Olivia Clayton combined to lose just one game in leading the Quincy High School girls tennis team to a 9-0 sweep of Galesburg in a Western Big Six Conference dual Tuesday at the Greeman Tennis Center in Reservoir Park.
Odajima won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Clayton won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2. They combined to win their No. 1 doubles match 6-0, 6-0. The Blue Devils lost only one set, but Katarina Urtikapa rebounded for a 6-4, 4-6 (10-5) victory at No. 5 singles.
Panthers open with NCMC victory
The Palmyra girls tennis team opened its season with a 9-0 victory over Moberly in North Central Missouri Conference play Tuesday. The Panthers swept the doubles action as Amy Bryan and Raegan Barnett won 9-7 at No. 1 doubles. McKenna Abbott and Katy Rindom, along with Reagan Lehenbauer and Jansen Juette won their doubles matches 8-1.
In singles play, Abbott and Lehenbauer didn't drop a point in their matches. Juette won 8-1 at No. 5 singles, while Bryan won 8-4 at No. 1 singles.
Siebers goes low for Raiders
Luke Siebers shot a 2-under 33 to earn medalist honors and lead the Quincy Notre Dame boys golf team to a quadrangular victory Tuesday at Westview Golf Course. The Raiders shot a 147 to distance themselves from Central, Illini West and Pittsfield. Jack Leffers shot a 36 for QND, while David Hutson and Sam Frericks both shot 39.
Wildcats' West earns medalist
Western's Rilee West shot a 44 Tuesday to earn medalist honors in a dual with the Quincy High School junior varsity at Bow Lake Golf Course. The Blue Devils shot a 184, while the Wildcats posted a 245. Quincy's Cole Nicholas shot a 48.

Hammel, Titans win quadrangular
Drake Hammel shot a 44 to earn medalist honors and lead the West Hancock boys golf team to the victory Tuesday in a quadrangular at Rolling Greens Golf Course. The Titans shot a 186, while Payson Seymour posted a 202. Unity and Brown County did not have team scores.
Justin Reneau shot a 45 for West Hancock, while Dane Pfeiferling posted a 48. Lane Miller and Gavin Logsdon led Payson with 48s. Walker McKinning shot a 47 for Unity, while Will Groesch posted a 55 for Brown County.

Hornets outduel Mustangs
The Brown County girls golf team edged Unity 255-268 in a dual Tuesday at Rollings Greens Golf Course. The Mustangs' Coleen Burwinkel earned medalist honors with a 50. Grace Groesch led the Hornets with a 54, and Allison Prather shot a 59.
Blue Devils runners set pace
Alexandria Meyers finished second individually and the Quincy High School girls cross country team had three runners in the top six to win the Jacksonville Kickoff Meet on Tuesday at Community Park. The Blue Devils had 25 points, followed by Jacksonville (36) and Springfield Southeast (67).
Meyers finished in 19 minutes, 33.76 seconds, nearly eight seconds behind Springfield Lutheran's Kirsten Huffman. Quincy's Anna Schuering was third in 20:37.72 and Natalie Goerlich was sixth in 22:17.85.
On the boys side, Quincy sophomore Fiker Rosen beat Jacksonville's James Miller by nearly 12 seconds to win the race. Rosen finished in 16:25.38. Quincy's Devin Hermsmeier was third in 17:33.78 as the Blue Devils lost 28-29 to Jacksonville.
